My Quest For The "No Belly Prize"
Hola Familia:
I started a new diet on April 14. Since it is a 40-day program I have only one or two days left. I am sorry to say that my beginning weight was 224 but happy to announce my weight today as 195. My goal is to get to at least 170. I won't make that weight before my diet ends but I plan to continue with a careful combination of eating just right and keeping active.
Yesterday I purchased a Trek 7100 hybrid bicycle. Today I went for my first ride. Not to bad and not to good. I hope I will improve.

For you ectomorphs, i.e. Alex, John, Liza, etc. I suppose you have no sympathy for us Vikings. Always with weight going up so easily and then down only after much anguish and difficulty. I guess that's why there are so many diet programs on TV.

Way to go dad! Losing that much weight is amazing...especially in such a short period of time. I'm a bit worried about you only eating 500 calories...

Congratulations on your substantial success. That diet sounded pretty brutal to me. Alas I can't offer any further secrets to scrawniness beyond the cocktail of genetics, lots of stress, and late nights.
Good luck with the cycling! Great exercise and (in my opinion) more interesting than jogging.
Way to go dad! We're trying to follow your fine example-- in losing weight--but NOT the 500 cal a day diet. UGHH! How can you do that?
