Baby Anderson and other Weighty Matters
By now all my readers know that our newest grandchild was born to Jackie and David Anderson on April 20. David has taken numerous still and video shots of daughter, mother and various visitors including Marge and I. I know Dave is ready to update his blog since last Christmas with this most important event. I think it will be this week-end. The biggest problem is that baby Anderson does not have a first or middle name. I have seen the list of possible names for her and it is quite long.
What I can report is that baby Anderson has black hair but lighter eye brows. Her mouth and chin remind me of David. Although early to know, David thinks her eyes are blue. I will let David describe her more on his blog when he posts photos.
I don't think baby Anderson will be released from the hospital until she begins gaining weight. Her birth weight was six+ pounds.
Mom and Jenni have been spending more time with Nathan since the birth--both in Draper and here in Provo. Nathan is a great kid and like us but has boundless energy. Even when we work in shifts we are all tuckered at the end of the day.
I talked to my sister Alice (Hawaii) this evening and we discussed the time she spends with grandchildren. She has Eddie's boy at her home all the time. When Eddie is working then Alice takes care of him. Every other week-end when Jill works her kids go to Grandma's house. I don't know how she does it. Ed's health is holding but is not good. She will turn 74 this October.
On another weighty subject, I am on a 500 calorie per day diet. I started April 14 and plan to continue to May 23 (a total of 40 days). I have lost 12 #'s so far. Every morning I take Thyroid and once each day I inject myself with a small amount of HCG which is supposed to help the weight loss come from fat and not muscle.
I eat two meals each day which include 3.5 ozs of a select protein, i.e. beef, chicken, some fish, etc., a veggie, viz, cucumber, tomato, lettuce, etc., a fruit some a list, namely, orange, apple, strawberries, etc. and one small slice of "melba toast." No sugars, no pasta, no carbohydrates, no grains, no good stuff. Makes me want to become a cook or a baker just to smell the possibilities.
My goal is to get my weight to under 170#'s and then begin jogging and running once again. Stay tuned.
Wouldn't it be nice to have a metabolism like Alex who doesn't seem to gain an ounce and yet has the luxury of eating whatever he wants. Please tell me your secret is more than genetics.
