Long Island Review
Marge and I traveled to ISLIP (airport) on Long Island where Ami, Ellie and Nico met us and took us to the "Hart House" in Patchogue, NY. As you all know this is where the Hart's have dropped the "anchor" at least for a while. The home is nice and a rather dramatic upchange from their apartment in Forrest Hills. They have three bedrooms upstairs with a full bath. The main floor features a "great" kitchen which has recently been upgraded. It is one of Ami's prized locations. She is a very good cook and keeps fresh bread and other goodies available for all who live in the house. She is also a "quick baker" when it comes to making pumpkin muffins and other treats for kids. Other features in the home include a large living area, dining room, library (or study area) and a den complete with computer. There's even a home on the back porch for their cat Harriet.
On the day before Halloween Ellie and a friend had organized a Halloween parade and party at the home of Ami's good friend Monica. Marge and I were invited and observed the parade and the party after the parade. Ellie had apparently done her research and found that "Mentos" dropped into Diet Coke produced a fountain from the concoction. Look at the photo below and you will see the two fountains from the bottles of Diet Coke. It was between these two fountains that the Halloween parade passed. My photos of the actual parade didn't turn out. But if you look at the other two photos below you will see Nico (a knight in shining armor with sword) and Ellie (a black cat complete with ears, cat face and a tail) at the party. Ami had made the muffins which the kids decorated with frosting and sprinkles. I tried one and approve.
Because I still don't know how to move photos in my blog my comentary will move between Halloween and Nico's (age 4) birthday celebration.
Below are three photos of Nico with his pumpkins cake (which he compared to a giant Canole) along with Ellie and their mum. Ami stays in good physical shape and can be described as a minimum.
With a flash. The one to the right is without a flash.
Below are the knight and cat standing by a deer with a scary face.
To the right and below are the kids back at the Halloween parade and party.
The photo to the left includes Ami (a purple witch), Alex (a construction supervisor) and the ghost who went east from Provo.
Actually, these event were more exciting than my lame photography might suggest. And, I don't know why Marge is not in any photo.
Stay tuned for another installment of the Long Island Review.
