John's Saturday Visit & Other Stuff
Finally a new post from the Neandersons.
Living in Utah or Arizona is considered the fly-over zone. So, it's unusual to have John for a visit. Mostly he markets to UBS' clients on the west coast and on the east coast. But John had a rare UBS conference in the Park City, Utah area on Thursday. On Friday he and other conference attendees went to the snow basin area near Ogden for Cat Skiing. The area was selected with fresh power and no ski lifts. Skiers were taken up the hill by snow cats. John said the experience was great.
He showed up in Provo Friday evening and spent Friday and Saturday nights at our home. We had a wonderful dinner on Saturday consisting of wild sockeye salmon steaks which John cooked, rice curry which Marge made from scratch with all of the ingredients, fresh cooked spinach and a tossed salad. Good stuff and somewhat on my diet.
I started the MedFast diet on Monday and have lost 7 pounds. I have passed the 200# barrier and hope to drop to 170. What do you think Cathi? Am I doing OK?
If I meet my weight goals I hope to earn the "no belly prize" at the family reunion. I can only hope.
John has an iPad. Impressive. He called his home in Bejing and we talked to and watched live action with Hui, Sophie and Lazarus along with Hui's parents.
Marge and I plan to drive to southern California next week and spend some time with Dave, Jackie, Nathan and Stephanie. We will visit the Specks in late April and May. Ben will be baptised May 5.
I have been quite busy with preparation of estate planning documents for some old clients including, Sansome (Kelsey, California), Wilkins (El Dorado Hills, California) and Bagley (Rexburg, Idaho). Other matters I've been busy with: a Reg. D filing with the SEC for Friday Nite Productions (to raise money for a stage play and movie). This is a project by a friend I knew during high school and early BYU days. Also, Hank and I are finalizing our book for the printer. The new title is: "Estate Planning Secrets Of The Rich And Their Advisors". I don't see a movie in the future.
Jim Adams (Sonoma, California) and I will be scheduling a trip to San Jose del Cabo soon to list the condo in the La Jolla complex for sale.
Marge is doing very well since her knee replacement surgery in December. She walks well and is glad she did the deed. My broken left arm is healed and I now have maximum use. The human body is a wonderful creation.
The time is 1:50 a.m. and I'm starting to fall asleep. So I will publish my post.
