Yesterday, March 18, 2009, Jackie Anderson took the oath before a federal district judge and became a U.S. citizen. Attached is a photo of her with David, Nathan, Marge, Jenni and myself who were there with her. The event was impressive!
I remember when Tanya got her citizenship, along with the wife of my senior rep in Moscow. We had cajoled the two women to take advantage of the "special" US opportunity afforded to the diplomatic corps, although neither had ever lived in the US and had no real plans or desire to be there. They were fine through the swearing-in ceremony until they reached the part about "bearing arms and performing service in the Armed Forces" ... and then we literally had to block them from turning back down the aisle and leaving the room. They gritted their teeth and said the rest - and today, I think, are both grateful they did ...

Congrats Jackie! I bet you now know more about U.S. history and political structure than most native citizens.
John's right though, you could be drafted anytime now. How about a little "vacation" to the desert, jungle, or a place ending in -stan?
